He entered the fame game at age 14, after a performance on Star Search led to a recording contract with LaFace Records. The song "Caught Up (Remix)" by Usher (ft.R&B singer and pop artist Usher is an eight-time Grammy winner best known for his best-selling album Confessions as well as the songs “Yeah!,” “Nice & Slow,” “U Remind Me,” and “My Boo,” a duet with Alicia Keys. Fabolous) is about a man who was previously in control of his life and emotions, but has now been completely taken over by his love for a woman. The first verse by Fabolous states that while he used to be unattached, a woman has now caught his attention and he can't deny his feelings for her. The second verse by Usher talks about how he had been independent for years and had not let anyone get too close to him until he met this woman who turned his life around. He is now so caught up in his feelings for her that he doesn't know what to do. The chorus highlights the fact that the woman has "got him twisted," meaning he is so wrapped up in his feelings for her that it is affecting his mental and emotional state. He is losing control and can't resist her hold on him. Usher's mom gave him a warning about how karma comes back around, but he didn't listen to her, thinking he knows how to handle his relationships. However, this woman has completely changed him, and he can't resist or deny his feelings for her. Overall, the song emphasizes the overwhelming and all-consuming nature of falling in love and how it can take over a person's life, thoughts, and emotions." He recalled, "We had some women, some drinks, some music." After Dre created the beat, they decided to "make sure the mood was inspiring during recording." They went to club to take a break, and played the song in Usher's truck while on the way. Usher felt the collaboration was pleasing, seeing other people responded positively to the song.
